Hey, I'm thinking of buying the 12V 7AH Power Tank (http://www.telescopesales.co.uk/power.htm) for my Celestron Nexstar SLT 60 because I'm sick and tired of replacing batteries and I was wondering - do you need to buy a lead to connect it to the telescope? If so which lead?

Also, I've had the SLT 60 for about 2 years so I'm updating (quite radically lol) to the Celestron C8 SGT around the end of this year. What are you're thoughts on the choice and the same lead and power tank will work in this 'scope, right?

Thanks in advance!

No - it comes with the so-called car battery adapter - you're good to go!

Celestron just put a Knowledgebase article up about PowerTanks on the website celestron.com/support
http://www.celestron.com/c3/support3/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=view&parentcategoryid=246&pcid=0&nav=0

My PT-7 has worked fine for 3 years. It's a great tool, freeing you from disposable batteries and AC outlets and extension cords.

Yes - the PowerTank will power even big mounts.

If you buy a GEM, get the PT-17.
